Many of these items are imported from all over the world, adding to their value since they are not commonly sold in the United States.
Gourmet food makes excellent gifts or a wonderful addition to any party or event. The fact that these foods may be more expensive or rare adds to the enjoyment of eating them. Although you may not purchase gourmet food on a regular basis, it can be fun to splurge every once in a while on that high dollar white chocolate cheesecake or top shelf bottle of wine.
